Little Bay Baking Company of Newmarket, New Hampshire is recalling all bags of CORN BREAD AND MUFFIN MIX sold before May 2, 2008 because it contains undeclared soy. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Malt-O-Meal announced that it is voluntarily recalling its unsweetened Puffed Rice and unsweetened Puffed Wheat Cereals produced with "Best If Used By" codes between April 8, 2008 (coded as "APR0808") and March 18, 2009 (coded as "MAR1809") because they may have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled product was distributed nationally, marketed under the Malt-O-Meal brand and as some private label brands including Acme, America's Choice, Food Club, Giant, Hannaford, Jewel, Laura Lynn, Pathmark, Shaw's, ShopRite, Tops and Weis Quality.

Walker's Food Products Company of North Kansas, Missouri, is recalling its 16oz., 5-lb. and 10-lb. containers of Four Bean Salad because of potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers are warned not to use the product, even if it does not look or smell spoiled.

This ice cream was distributed in Ohio, Michigan, Western Pennsylvania, and Indiana and reached consumers through retail stores. The packaging does not reveal the presence of peanut butter candy or peanuts on the ingredient label. If consumers have a Dutch Chocolate 56 fl oz (purple package) with the code 07320 on the rim of the lid, they should discard the ice cream and send the lid of the empty container back to Pierre's for a full refund.

Rocky Mountain Popcorn Company, Centennial, CO is voluntarily initiating a nationwide recall of 1,603 bags of Low Fat Caramel 9 oz. Popcorn (in the green bag). This recall is on the Low Fat variety only. An ingredient in this product has been found to contain a trace amount of tree nuts, which potentially could cause an allergic reaction to any person with a tree nut allergy.

New Era Canning Company of New Era, Michigan is recalling all cans of green beans and garbanzo beans in #10 cans (large cans containing between 6 and 7 pounds) because they may have been processed under conditions which could have led to contamination by Clostridium botulinum bacterium spores, which can cause life-threatening illness or death. The codes on the affected product begin with the numbers "00249," or the letters "GREEN" or "GARB". This recall does not include Italian Green Beans because that is a different product.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Gift Wrap Co., of Atlanta, Ga., is voluntarily recalling about 600 Hanging Photo Frames. Surface paint on the photo frames contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

New Era Canning Company of New Era, Michigan is announcing a new recall to include Mexican style chili beans, green beans, and dark red kidney beans that were shipped to food service and retail customers because a records review identified the possibility that a small number of cans from each lot may not have been adequately cooked and have the potential for the growth of Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause botulism, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning.

The brake calipers in the front of the utility vehicles may have been installed incorrectly, causing the vehicle to pull to one side during braking. This poses an injury hazard to consumers.

The plastic button eyes on the stuffed horse and the pompom nose on the fairy doll toy can easily detach, posing a small parts choking hazard to young children.

At sentencing, United Nuclear Scientific Supplies LLC, of Edgewood, N.M., founded and operated by Robert Lazar, was fined $7,500 and received three years probation. The firm violated federal law which prohibits the sale of chemicals and components used to make illegal fireworks.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that Hoover Company Inc., of North Canton, Ohio, has agreed to pay a $750,000 civil penalty. The penalty, which the Commission has provisionally accepted, settles allegations that the company failed to report to CPSC the sale of vacuum cleaners with defective on-off switches that can overheat and cause the vacuum cleaner to catch fire.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that Black Dog Tavern Company Inc., of Vineyard Haven, Mass., has agreed to pay a $50,000 civil penalty. The penalty, which the Commission has provisionally accepted, settles allegations that the company failed to report to CPSC the sale of children's hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings after the product was recalled for a strangulation hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Deere & Company of Moline, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 16,000 John Deere X300 Select Series Lawn Tractors. A problem in the manufacturing process could cause damage to the circuit in the interlock module. If the interlock module fails, the mower blades will be able to run with no operator on the tractor seat. Consumers could suffer injuries from contact with operating blades.

The digital camera can cause certain non-rechargeable batteries, such as the Duracell CP-1, to overheat when the camera is connected to an AC adapter or docking station, posing a fire hazard.

An Iowa-based manufacturer and distributor of chemicals used to make illegal fireworks has agreed to get out of the business, after pleading guilty to violating federal law. At sentencing today, Iowa Pyro Supply Inc., of Stanwood, Iowa, which is owned by Mark and Geraldine Mead, was also fined $10,000 and given one year of probation.

Gas can leak during operation and accumulate. If an ignition source is present, a fire or explosion could occur.

The teapots are labeled safe for microwave use, but the handles can become hot in the microwave oven. This poses a possible burn hazard to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American Public Co., of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 3,400 Hooded Sweatshirt with Drawstrings. The hooded sweatshirts have drawstrings, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, the CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings of upper garments such as jackets and sweatshirts.

Wood Company Inc., of Ottawa, Ohio is voluntarily recalling about 112,000 Automatic Defrost Upright Freezers and All-Refrigerators. The defrost heater coil can become exposed inside the units, which poses a potential shock hazard to consumers. In some cases the exposed heater wire can also melt, or burn the unit's interior plastic food liner.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dormont Manufacturing Company, of Export, Pa. and Cimberio S.p.A., of Via Torchio, Italy are voluntarily recalling about 20,000 (in inventory) Cimberio Gas Ball Valves. When one of these valves is closed, it could open up slightly. If the gas supply is on, gas will leak from the inlet port through the ball/seat and travel through the outlet port. If the valve is not connected to an appliance, and is not capped or plugged as required by the National Fuel Gas Code Section 6.7.2.1, leaking gas will escape into the air. However, subsequent testing confirms that this potential for a gas leak is eliminated as gas flows through the valve. As a result, there is no risk with installed valves.

A metal bar on the rattle can break off during use, releasing small round beads and small farm animal figures that roll off the crossbar when the soldered joints break. The beads can pose an aspiration hazard to young children. The breakage also can create ragged edges on the ring, posing a laceration hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Zhongshan Zhongnam Candle Manufacturer Co., Ltd. of China is recalling about 2,000 Beeswax Rope Candles (SKU # 34-911). The candle has a clamp (vise) that leads the end of the rope candle at the top. When clamped properly it is supposed to self-extinguish the candle when the burning wick meets the metal clamp (vise). The clamp (vise) does not always sever the wax close to the wick and does not always enable the wick to self-extinguish. This can lead to the flame continuing down into the coiled section of the candle, which can then ignite and cause fire damage.

A ground clip inside the back plastic panel of these monitors can be incorrectly installed, posing a risk of electrical shock to consumers.
