The remote control unit can lose its signal, causing the toy vehicle to lose control, posing a risk of injury to the user or bystanders.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Westminster Inc., of Atlanta, Ga., is voluntarily recalling about 102,000 “Thunder Wolf” Remote Controlled Indoor Helicopters. The rechargeable battery inside the helicopter can overheat. This can result in the helicopter’s body melting, as well as a risk of fire or burns to consumers.

U.S.A., of Irvine, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 6,000 2008 Model Year KFX 50 and KFX 90 Youth ATVs. The throttle can fail to return to the idle position when released or could fail to be at idle on start-up. This could result in loss of vehicle control, posing a risk of serious injury or death to the rider.

A manufacturing defect in the carburetor can cause the throttle to stick open, posing a risk of serious injury or death to the rider.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bush Hog LLC, of Selma, Ala., is voluntarily recalling about 4,000 Bush Hog Off-Road Utility Vehicles. The utility vehicle’s throttle cable can freeze in freezing temperatures. This can cause the engine not to return to idle when the driver takes his or her foot off the accelerator pedal.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), TWIE, also known as Tradewinds International Enterprises Inc., of San Francisco, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 152,000 “Sky Champion” Wireless Indoor Helicopters. The rechargeable battery contained inside the helicopter can catch fire, igniting the helicopter and nearby combustible materials. This poses a burn or fire hazard to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hearth & Home Technologies Inc., of Lakeville, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 22,000 IntelliSwitch Fireplace Wall Controls. Failure in the wall control system can cause the fireplace to turn on by itself creating a risk of property damage. If the control fails and the consumer has left combustible objects directly in front of an unattended fireplace, there may also be a risk of fire.

The electric power steering shaft of the recalled ATVs could break unexpectedly, resulting in the rider’s losing steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders.

Gas can leak from regulator when the diaphragm pulls inward into the casing, posing a fire or explosion hazard to consumers.

The software in the fire alarm system could fail to recognize when a detector needs servicing as a result of the buildup of dust, dirt, or other environmental pollutants, which could result in the system failing to respond in the event of a fire.

The ATV's front bearing carrier can fail due to an insufficient amount of material thickness in the area where the lower a-arm and ball joint are attached which can result in a loss of control and a crash and/or serious injury to the operator.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 2,700 Model Year 2006 FS Classic, FS Touring, FST Classic, FST Touring and FST Switchback Snowmobiles. The right and left front suspension shock towers can separate due to inadequate welding during the manufacturing process. Separation of the welded joints can result in stiffer steering or the shock mount failing suddenly, causing the rider to lose control of the snowmobile and crash.

If the batteries are placed backwards in the remote control with the positive and negative sides improperly switched, overheating can result and present a burn hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Atmel Corp., of San Jose, Calif. and the security business of Honeywell International, located in Syosset, N.Y., are voluntarily recalling about 4,000 Atmel Microcontrollers used in Honeywell Digital Cellular Communicators. The microcontroller in the communicator can enter an unrecoverable lock-up state due to a programming issue. The lock-up could result in a service interruption, and fail to transmit an alarm signal in the event of a fire or property invasion.

(formerly Invensys Building Systems), is voluntarily recalling about 850 “Erie Boiler Boss” Operating and Reset Controls. These boiler controls can fail, causing water temperature to rise to the high temperature limit. Should the high temperature thermostat or external safety limit devices also fail, consumers could suffer scalds from unexpectedly hot water during use or system piping damage can result.

If consumers swing the hand-held "Wii Remote" game controllers using excessive force and accidentally let go, the cord connecting the controller to the wrist strap can break, potentially causing the controller to strike bystanders or objects.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Delta Faucet Co., of Indianapolis, Ind., is voluntarily recalling about 105,000 Universal MultiChoice Valves (used in bathtubs and showers). The device in the valve that limits the amount of hot water that can flow from the shower head or bathtub spout can disengage after being manually set, causing consumers to come in contact with water that is hotter than expected. This poses a risk of scalding injuries.

The nuts securing the tie-rod ends to the steering shaft may not have been tightened sufficiently during assembly. If the nuts loosen during operation, the operator could lose steering control, posing a risk of crashing.
