In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hayes Bicycle Group, of Mequon, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 800 SunRinglé Hollow Quick Release Devices for Bicycles. The quick release devices can unexpectedly fail or break when locked in position on the bicycle, causing the rider to lose control, which poses a serious fall hazard.

Matterhorn Group Inc is recalling certain date coded product of their Rainbow Glacier "Astro Pops" water ice frozen novelty pops, Cherry Pineapple Swirl 3.5 oz size 12 count bag pack, with tag closure "Best by JUN 03-09", "Best by JUN 04-09" and "Best by JUN 05-09" sold through the Wal-Mart stores located in California and Arizona, Sunnyside Farms "Missile Pops" Cherry Pineapple in 3.5 oz. size 12 count bag packages, with tag closure of "Best By JUN 02-09", "Best by JUN 03-09", and "Best by JUN 04-09" sold through the California stores of grocery retailers Save Mart and Raley’s, and Vitafreze Frozen Astronot Pops 3.5 oz size 12 count bag packages, with tag closure of "Best By JUN 02-09" sold in California. The products are being recalled because they may contain pieces of hard plastic. Only the noted product date codes listed are affected.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Manhattan Group LLC, of Minneapolis, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 7,000 Tumble Tower Infant Rattles. The blue plastic end caps of the rattle can break, resulting in small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), WMH Tool Group Inc. (WMH), of Elgin, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 7,100 Performax and Wilton 10” Sliding Miter Saws. The saw handle’s switch can fail, causing the saw to smoke, spark, and trip circuit breakers, and disable the safety brake. The saw also can keep operating unless the unit is unplugged, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

When connected to a garden hose, under normal household water pressure, the sprinkler can break or shatter, presenting a laceration hazard to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), WMH Tool Group Inc., (WMH), of Elgin, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 38,000 Wilton Mitre Saws. The aluminum cast pivot joint that connects the base of the saw to the head assembly (which contains the saw blade) can crack under extreme pressure or force, causing the blade assembly to unexpectedly break free from the stationary base. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers.

The iron supplements are not in child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Ingesting multiple iron supplements at once can cause serious injury or death to young children.

If the clear plastic container is removed from the book's back cover or breaks, young children can access the beads in it. This poses a choking hazard to young children.

An electronic malfunction can occur in the ride-on vehicle's circuit board and/or battery connector, resulting in smoking and melting of components. This poses a vehicle fire hazard and a burn hazard to consumers if components are touched while malfunctioning.

The handles on the base of the slow cookers can break, posing a risk of burns from hot contents spilling onto consumers. These Rival® Slow Cookers, sold from January 1999 through May 2002, were previously recalled for the same hazard. The recall has now been expanded to include all units manufactured before September 2004.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fourstar Group Inc., of Hopkinton, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 522,000 Kid's Folding Chairs. The chair's safety lock can fail, allowing the chair to collapse or fold unexpectedly. Children's fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard. This can cause severe lacerations and finger tip amputations to children's fingers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dorel Juvenile Group, of Columbus, Ind., announced a warning today for parents and caregivers who purchased the Safety 1st Tubside Bath Seats. The company has sold about 250,000 units to date. The bath seats are not intended and should not be used with certain non-traditional or sunken bathtubs. In these types of tubs, the bath seat can break, tip over and a child can fall into the water.

In 2002, more than 1.45 million Americans 65 years and older went to hospital emergency rooms with consumer product-related injuries. According to a new study titled “Special Report: Emergency Room Injuries Adults 65 and Older,” consumers in that age group are increasingly at risk for product-related injuries in or around the home, especially falls.

The seat pin on the Power Pro with "Lat Tower" and Ultimate models can break or become disengaged, allowing the seat to move suddenly. Also, the incline support bracket on the Power Pro without a "Lat Tower" can break, allowing the incline bench to move suddenly. Both hazards pose a fall risk to the user.

If the stop pins are bent or missing or the seat is not fully attached, the seat can partially detach from the frame during use and the infant occupant can be injured in a fall.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., of Columbus, Ind., is again voluntarily recalling Cosco Arriva and Turnabout infant car seats/carriers to address a problem with the carry handle. On July 8, 1999, the two federal agencies and Cosco, now known as the Dorel Juvenile Group, announced the recall of 670,000 of these infant car seat/carriers made from March 1995 through September 1997. This recall adds 1.2 million of the same model infant car seats/carriers made through January 2000.

The partnership among government, industry and advocacy groups was announced at a news conference Thursday at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The theme of the campaign is "Sweet Dreams...Safe Sleep for Babies."
