CPSC, The Brinkmann Corporation Announce Recall to Repair Gas Grills

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Brinkmann Corporation, of Dallas, Texas is voluntarily recalling about 130,000 Brinkmann-brand and Charmglow-brand Gas Grills manufactured by Brinkmann. The regulators on these gas grills, the component that controls the amount of gas released to the burner, could leak gas when attached to certain liquid propane tanks. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries.

Description
The recall involves Brinkmann-brand and Charmglow-brand gas grills. The regulator is attached to the side of the grills. Only grills that have regulators with the name "GDA" are affected by this recall. The grills have three to six burners and the name "Brinkmann" or "Charmglow" on the lid.
Hazards
The regulators on these gas grills, the component that controls the amount of gas released to the burner, could leak gas when attached to certain liquid propane tanks. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries.
Incidents
The Brinkmann Corporation has received two reports of a small flame reportedly due to gas leaking at or near the propane cylinder. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
Remedy
Consumers with grills that have the "GDA" regulator should contact Brinkmann to receive a free repair kit or replacement hose regulator assembly.
