CPSC, Family Dollar Stores Announce Recall of Spinning Star Christmas Tree Topper

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Family Dollar Stores, of Charlotte, N.C. is voluntarily recalling about 13,000 Spinning Star Christmas Tree Toppers. The tree topper can melt or smoke near the on/off switch, which could pose a fire hazard.

Spinning Star Christmas Tree Topper
Description
The recalled tree topper is a plastic star with a gold or silver metallic finish. The center of the tree topper is clear plastic center with a spinning disk with lights. "X'mas L.E.D. Spinning Tree Top" is written on the box.
Hazards
The tree topper can melt or smoke near the on/off switch, which could pose a fire hazard.
Incidents
Family Dollar has received eight reports of the tree topper melting or smoking. There are no reports of fires, injuries or property damage.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the spinning star tree topper and return it to a Family Dollar store for a full refund.
