Car Seats Expire.
Most car seats expire after 6 years. Check the bottom of your car seat for the expiration date. Car seats typically expire due to the evolving nature in car seat saftey. Plastic also only has a lifespan of about 6 years before it begins to break down.
NEVER
use a car seat after it has been involved in a car accident. Know and understand the history of any car seats that are hand-me-downs. Contact your local birthing centers for names and numbers of local car seat technicians that can inspect your car seat, as well as give you instructions on the correct way to install a car seat in your vehicle.
